Finding home

Finding home

When we moved to California I didn't expect seasons. But one of the things that made me fall in love with our town was the autumn color. Simply because I love fall. It reminds me of the Northeast where my husband and I moved from, and its my son's favorite season. I love that he loves playing in the fallen leaves. One of my favorite memories is of the kids playing in enormous piles of sycamore leaves with their new dog. She was such a little pup she'd completely burry herself in the leaves. Yes, she's in there:

I didn't expect this of California but it's one of the things that makes it "home". This morning while I was walking I collected a few leaves from our neighborhood so I could share them with you.

Red Maple

Flowering Plum

Chinese Pistache

Golden Rain

Japanese Maple

Feels like home.
